Section 106 Negotiations
Negotiation of Planning AgreementsAll Council’s usually require major development proposals to assess and address their infrastructure requirements. For example, some housing developments will create a demand for school places, increase pressure on the highway network or exacerbate flooding and drainage problems in an area. Most Council’s will also require a housing developer to create some affordable housing for local people in housing need. These requirements are known as planning obligations.
APC will advise you on the likely planning obligations that will be required by a Council as these will have a significant impact on the viability of a project. APC can also assist negotiations with Council’s in conjunction with a Financial Viability Assessment prepared by specialist surveyors.
